Green Foot Prints For a Great Campus

At the heart of Nirmmalam -MGU and MGU Green Lab is not any great innovation- but people who embraced new habits and vision. This initiative took new shapes because of the collective efforts of the vibrant university community:

Avoidance of non-biodegradable waste wherever possible and segregation of waste wherever required form the key to the success of this project. Honouring the requirements of the project many old habits were abandoned and newer ones welcomed. The immense contributions by the cleaning staff to the committed interferences by the student community set the launchpad for the project. As the proud members of the team MGU-Green Lab, a group of passionate students actively participate in the daily operations of the Green Lab under the scheme “Earn While You Learn”. By combining academics with hands-on sustainability practice, they not only gain invaluable experience but also contribute to a cleaner, greener tomorrows.

Members of the University family from students and faculty to support staff extend the mission by taking the green vibes this project generate to their homes by falling in love with family farming. Their support, through purchasing and promoting Green Lab products, has turned sustainability into a lifestyle rather than just a project.

Collaborations with SBI MGU Campus Branch and the MGU Employees Co-operative Society have provided financial, moral, and logistical strength—helping Green Lab grow from a modest campus initiative into a recognized model of waste-to-value innovation.

By sharing a great green dream efforts are thus ever on to transform MGU into a campus where waste becomes wealth, learning meets practice, and sustainability proceeds to responsibility.
